A lot of my peers (Gen-Z) aren’t real Hip-Hop fans. They’re just here for what’s trending. They don’t care about the roots, just the clout. I call them Hip-Pop fans.
If you want to be part of the culture, at least respect it. Too many people with loud opinions that don’t know jack! I dont know everything either but i definitely spend my Sundays watching hip-hop documentaries and video essays from guys like: Wayno, FDSignifier, The Company Man, Anthony Aiken Jr and the list goes on.
I love Hip-Hop, but I also hate where it’s at. Maybe it was never meant to be this mainstream watered down and controlled by outsiders.
